Horn Information

Great care and attention to detail is applied to the finishing of all our made to measure wooden gates and this includes the Horns / Pommels.

They are designed to protect the top joints from any water ingress and premature failure, ensuring a longer life expectancy. They also further enhance the elegance and appearance of each and every gate that we manufacture. Two options are available on all of our wooden gates, round or 45 degree chamfer.

Timber Options

We also offer two further timber options, these are Accoya and Iroko.

Accoya has unprecedented reliability for timber; it’s trusted not to visibly swell, shrink or distort, with minimal movement, furthermore, it stays that way for 50 years above ground, and 25 years below ground. Accoya is a highly proven product and has been extensively tested in real life conditions, over many years.

Accoya is so reliable that for many years it has been, and continues to be used by scientists as the benchmark against which other treatments and modified timbers are measured.

African Iroko wood is a tough, dense, highly durable wood with a rich coloured grain. It is often referred to as Nigerian Teak. Iroko wood is the ideal substitute for teak and is many people’s number one choice.

The Iroko tree is native to the west coast of Africa making it ideal for outdoor applications, such as wooden garden gates.
